Normal: Normal (Non-QA) Sample
Samples taken as part of a Monitoring Round, typically used to assess the presence of contaminants (and other analytes) at a monitoring location.
Field_D: Field Duplicate
A duplicate sample taken at the same point as the Normal Sample, and submitted to the same laboratory
Field duplicate samples may be collected and analyzed as an indication of overall precision. These Analyses measure both field and Laboratory precision. The results, therefore, may have more variability than Laboratory duplicates that measure only Laboratory perform ance. It is also expected that soil duplicate results will have a greater variance than water matrices due to difficulties associated with collecting identical field samples.
Field_B: Field Blank
Adding distilled water in the field to a collection bottle.
The objective of blank analysis results assessment is to determine the existence and magnitude of contamination resulting from Laboratory (or field) activities. The criteria for evaluation of blanks applies to any blank associated with the samples (e.g., method blanks, calibration blanks, field blanks, etc.). If problems with any blank exist, all associated data must be carefully evaluated to determine whether or not there is an inherent variability in the data, or if the problem is an isolated occurrence not affecting other data.

Interlab_D: Interlab Duplicate
