Thanks: 1 times

Normally, we create a new submission to request analyses for a second batch of samples, for which the analytical suites are often the same. A typical example would be where we have samples requiring Suite A etc analysis. We need to ship them off first, and then we’ll continue on taking additional samples at the site, for which we’ll assign the same analysis.
If we create a new request on a lab submission in LSPECS all the analytical suites are cleared and it can take a long time to select and regenerate the analytical suites. Is there a more efficient way of achieving this?

The best approach is to create a new lab submission (Sample Delivery Group) for the second samples batch as a copy of the previous lab submission.

  • To copy a previous Lab Submission open the monitoring round panel and click on the green Upload Data button, then select Upload Lab Submission.
  • Or from the Monitoring Round Overview page click the Add New button under Laboratory Submissions.
  • In the form that pops up click on Copy From Previous Lab Submissions.
  • Select the Lab Submission you wish to copy from the list and click OK.
  • This generates a copy of the lab submission as a basis for editing.
  • Here be sure to add the new samples and select their analyses and update the container counts first before deleting the previous samples. This ensures the analysis selection and containers are not deleted with them but persisted against the new samples.
